Strategic Plan
The Walla Walla Watershed Management Partnership (Partnership) was established in 2009 under a unique pilot local water management program (RCW 90.92). The Partnership’s innovative program was developed by local stakeholders in cooperation with the Washington State Department of Ecology, building on the belief that the key to augmenting stream flows for fish is for water users to employ greater local control and flexibility beyond what conventional water management options and regulation can deliver. One of the roles, responsibilities and duties of the Partnership in implementing RCW 90.92 is to develop strategic actions for the planning area by building on the Walla Walla Watershed Plan. The Partnership initiated its strategic planning effort in December 2009, with advice and assistance provided by the Partnership’s Policy Advisory Group and Water Resource Panel to consider Partnership-specific authorities and complementary basin efforts and initiatives. The strategic plan for 2009-2012 was approved by the Partnership Board on September 7, 2010.
