Time Change for Winter Board Meetings

In order to make travel to and from board meetings easier in the winter months, the Partnership board voted at the July 11 meeting to move meeting start times from November through February. The November, December, January, and February meetings will now start at 5 pm instead of 7 pm, and will keep the usual two hour length.

The meeting location will remain rooms 2023 and 2024 in the Water and Environmental Center at Walla Walla Community College, 500 Tausick Way. Make sure to show up and engage with water policy in your community!

Public Board Meeting June 21

There will be a special public board meeting in June regarding the future of our organization.  As you are likely aware, the legislative authorization of the Partnership expires on June 30, 2019.  We are initiating discussions now with multiple parties, to ask potential questions such as:

·        What aspects of the Partnership have been most successful?

·        What aspects of the Partnership have been most problematic?

·        What things does the Partnership need to change?

·        What is our vision going forward and what should we do to realize that vision?

   As we get closer to June 21, a detailed agenda will be made available online.  The meeting will be held from 3-6 PM that day at the Enology & Viticulture Center on the Walla Walla Community College campus.  The event will be followed by a no-host social.  This meeting will be open to all members of the public.

Revision to Water Banking Application

The Partnership Board has approved a new version of the water banking application form and annual report form. It's largely similar to the previous version, with some new information added. Links to both of them are now available in the Water Banking section of the Services tab.

Gardena Farms Irrigation District LWP

Gardena Farms Irrigation District #13 has applied to the Partnership for a new Local Water Plan. The public comment period on this plan is now open.

Written comments will be accepted until 4:00 pm on June 5, mailed to the Partnership at the Water & Environmental Center, Walla Walla Community College, 500 Tausick Way, Walla Walla, WA, 99362, or by e-mail to chris.hyland@wwcc.edu.

Verbal comments will be heard at the Partnership Board meeting at 7:00 pm on June 6, at the above address in conference room 2023/2024.
